Defined Contribution Beneficiary Capture Email Trigger
What is the objective of this campaign?
Without a beneficiary on a workplace retirement plan, savings may be tied up in a time-consuming and stressful process during an already difficult time. By naming a beneficiary employees will have clarity, control, and peace of mind knowing their savings will go where intended. The goal of this two-touch campaign is to notify employees that they do not have a beneficiary on file and encourage them to assign one.
Who will receive this campaign?
All employees with a DC plan that does not have a valid beneficiary assigned. There are three different versions based on age: 18-35 years old, 36-55 years old, and 56+ years old.
- Active employees age 18+ with a balance greater than $0
- Former employees age 18+ who have been separated for 45 days or more with a balance greater than $0
When will these communications be sent?
This is a two-touch, triggered, ongoing email campaign delivered twice per year. This campaign will repeat every 180 days until the participant has a beneficiary on file.
Touch 1 – Delivered on employees’ date of birth plus 90 days
Touch 2 – Delivered one week later
