What are the goals of this campaign?
This campaign is designed to provide education and resources for beneficiaries of inherited retirement plan assets to help them make informed decisions about their new assets.
Who will receive this campaign?
Communication will be sent to beneficiaries who recently inherited a loved one’s retirement plan assets equal to $5k or more.
What messages will individuals receive?
This is a two-touch campaign, with print backup.
- Touch 1 provides beneficiaries with information about their distribution options, as well as education and resources to help them make informed decisions about their inherited assets.
- Touch 2 reinforces the education and resources available to help beneficiaries make decisions about their new assets.
When will these communications be sent?
- The first touch will be sent within 20 days of the account being funded (the inheritance process is complete, and the new account is funded).
- The second touch will be sent 40 days after the initial touch only if a balance remains in the newly funded account.
What is the call to action?
- Beneficiaries of education-only plans will be directed to NetBenefits to provide access to resources that can help them think through options and next steps. The plan’s default number is also provided if someone wants to speak to a Fidelity representative.
- Beneficiaries of advice plans are encouraged to call or schedule a one-on-one consultation with a Fidelity representative and provided with links to NetBenefits to help them consider options and next steps.
